Interim Management
The Show Must Go On!
Every business faces periods in which the team is incomplete, or the demands of the business exceed the available resources. As a leader, you’ll want to avoid that these periods negatively impact the results of the company.
Interim management is a quick and flexible option to fill temporary gaps. You determine when you need someone on the team, and for how long. You get to pick what expertise and seniority you’re looking for to temporarily strengthen the team. In most cases, the interim manager adds a new dimension that the team did not provide for before. An interim manager can help lead the company into a new direction and pave the way for the permanent hire to come in after.
An introduction meeting or call will help you determine whether VDH Consulting is a good fit. Additional meetings can be planned to define the exact scope of the assignment.

Experience
Scaling Urban Arrow from Niche to Leader
As Interim COO at Urban Arrow, a fast-growing premium cargo bike brand within the Pon Bike Group, I guided the company through a critical scale-up phase. Following rapid growth (including a COVID-driven demand surge), the business needed to shift from a single-source setup to a professionalized, multi-node operation.
I supported the leadership team in building the operational backbone to sustain this growth:
- Led the insourcing of core functions and relocation of office and logistics facilities
- Grew the Operations team from 12 to 35 people within 10 months
- Sponsored the implementation of a new WMS and professionalized S&OP and reporting processes
- Drove improvements across key value chain processes, including NPI, commercialization and BOM management
Result: Urban Arrow transitioned from scale-up to serious contender — with the structure, systems and team to support continued growth and complexity.
